August 16, 2021Are you a deer-hunting enthusiast and looking for some tips for deer hunting? This is what every deer hunter out there is trying to find. I have some tips for deer hunting that might come in handy. Here they are:
First, be obsessed with the smell. Deer hunting is all about being as undetected as possible, so be sure you smell your prey. Use the best ground blinds, which can block up to 97% of smells. Also, make sure you have the proper scent control devices on hand.
Second, make the wind your pal. In most areas, deer hunting is done in the middle of a dense forest, so it pays to scout out the open spaces in the woods. Look for areas where the wind picks up, as this is often where the deer are moving around. White-tailed deer are particularly effective when they are hunting in the woods, so focus on these deer species if you want the best of luck on your next deer hunting trip.
Third, hunt deer during rutting. Because deer have naturalized ways of finding food, you’ll often find them in the woods hunting for sustenance. You may even spot bucks and does during rutting season, so this is an excellent time to bag a meal. During this time, the deer will be laying down to mate and will seek out food in areas with a lot of grass and leaves. Whitetail deer hunting during rutting helps hunters get in a position to shoot the animals as close to the neck as possible, as the bucks and does are known for their acute hearing abilities.
Lastly, know the basics of the tree stand strategy. While there are many ways to hunt deer successfully without a tree stand, it pays to know how to approach one. A good tree stand will allow you to stay out in the open longer, give you more elevation and cover, and give you better angles to shoot your prey. Learn about the different tree stands and how they work so that you can take full advantage of these tools.
